Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 7/22/2025

Welcome to Wheelock Portraits. By purchasing artwork or services from this site, you agree to the following terms:

1. Commission Process

After submitting your commission request, you will receive confirmation and a free consultation will be scheduled.

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your spot on the commission calendar. The remaining balance is due prior to final delivery.

If ordering an heirloom portrait package, you will receive a preliminary conceptual study for review and approval before the final work begins.

2. Revisions

Minor adjustments may be requested after previewing the final work. Major revisions beyond the scope of the agreed-upon concept may incur additional charges.

3. Shipping

Standard shipping is included for all portrait packages.

Heirloom portraits ship in a premium Airfloat Strong Box. Graphite vignette and oil vignette packages will ship in standard packaging. Optional upgrades are available at checkout.

4. Upgrades

Any upgrades (including but not limited to framing, reproductions, process video, and premium Airfloat box) must be requested at time of purchase or before final approval.

5. Intellectual Property

The artist retains copyright to all commissioned works, including the right to use images of the finished artwork for promotional purposes unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

6. Cancellations & Refunds

The initial 50% payment installment is non-refundable. The remaining 50% installment is paid after final approval and prior to shipping. If the client is unsatisfied with the final product after minor adjustments and a good faith attempt by the artist to address any concerns, the client may forfit the portrait commission and not pay the remaining 50% installment. The artist will keep possession of the artwork.

7. Use of Media

Clients who purchase the “Making-Of” video grant permission to record the creation process of their artwork. This video is for personal use and may also be used for the artist’s portfolio or marketing unless otherwise requested.
